Git - R - Done

oh, what have I done? well, I logged into my teambeachbody account and am once again, attempting to complete my 90-day training to a leaner, fitter Tiff. April 25th is the Git-Er-Done date and I'm ready to roll with the punches because without them, Im already on a roll (of the mid-section kind)

Getting Back On My Horsey

Beginning Monday, November 15, 2010, I will start my P90X 90-day program over again. I had to stop when I was about half-way through the first round because I had to have surgery to remove my gallbladder and fix an umbilical hernia. I've waited a little over a month to resume my fitness program so that I could recover. It's been a long and hard wait. Everything I had fought for was finally paying off and continuing my program will only help me reap even more of the benefits. I've lowered my cholesterol to the point where my doctor no longer sees a need for medication, my tachycardia seems to have "disappeared", my clothes are getting looser and I'm feeling great! Even the doctor says whatever I'm doing, keep doing it. She commented that people would pay to be in the shape I'm in which felt great to hear!

While I have been waiting to get back into my routine, I have been able to do some doctor-approved exercises so all was not lost (except for some extra pounds!) Thanks to a combination of my previously made diet changes, 6-day/week exercise routine, and surgery, I have lost more inches and actually need a belt for some of my pants! It is really exciting when I can put on a shirt I have not worn in a year and it actually feels loose around my belly and even my arms!!

I hadn't looked at a scale for years since seeing I was little over 140 lbs. I started paying attention when I got down to 136 lbs while we were temporarily living in San Antonio with the help of the gym and walking all over Fort Sam Houston. Then, when we returned home I recorded my beginning-of-the-program weight at 133 lbs in June '10. About 1 week ago, I am currently at 127, unless I've lost a pound or two since then. All of my other measurements are being recorded at my teambeachbody.com/faneese account which helps me to keep a visual record of my goals and the progress I am making toward those goals. (I still have until next Monday to take some more measurements though).

For me, not being able to have this part of my day has really thrown me off which was a little surprising. It was like there was something missing in my life that needed to be there. This is a good thing because I see that this is not going to stop after 90 days. It has become a part of my lifestyle. Whether it is P90X or anything else that I do for myself, I know I will be a happier and healthier me and I want to make sure I'm around for a long time for my children and grandchildren and even great grandchildren. Somehow, if I keep this up, I do not think that is going to be a problem.

Day 36 ~ WOAH

WOAH ~ last I wrote in here it was Day 16. From there I guess I was so focused on the program I put the journal aside and got busy! Since Day 16, I have missed a total of 8 days working out. My energy level had hit a low I have been unfamiliar with. I have been eating as best as I could, and actually I would say the healthiest in my whole life. I have never eaten so many veggies in my life! I am wondering if the whole energy level dip has been due to some health issues that have come up and still need to be addressed but that's another story another time.

Today was Core Synergistics. I had to mentally force myself out of bed but I have succeeded my mission. The mental pep talk came to me since yesterday when I was realizing how much I have lost and how much is toning up. Another motivation came from my daughter who commented with a "wow, mom, you will be in a bikini in no time! for sure by next summer!" (not exactly word-for-word but it was good enough for me!) That really gave me the kick in my bum to get off of it and get moving! I am, however, a bit upset that I am unable to do the various push-ups due to the fact I had a wrist injury a while back that comes back to haunt me with a vengeance so it becomes nearly impossible to put any weight on my hand at all. Nevertheless, I made it through the whole 60 minutes. I think I am about Superman/Banana-ed out! Speaking of bananas, I am craving some Sticky Bars. Time to mash up some 'naners

Day 12 ~ Legs and Back + Ab Ripper

It was so hard to get up this morning as it has been the last 3 days. I wish I had the flame & fire I had when I first started, getting up at 5am with my husband to workout. I am getting up and starting no later than 7:00am so that is not too bad. Besides, I am able to go at my own pace and pause the dvd so I can keep a record of everything.

This morning I set up shop out on the back porch. It was a gorgeous morning to workout outside. My fur babies sat next to my area the whole way through and watched me which made it hard to keep a straight face with the way Skyla was looking at me like "WTH are you DOING?"
Then the evil chipmunks did not help much either. I say evil, because their cuteness took my attention away and I stopped during my Oblique V-ups to watch them play in my yard.
I missed a few reps and totally missed the Leg Climbs as well. My back has been hurting so it has been a little difficult to even lay down but I am pressing on. I must say though that I have completed all 12 days without fail (Fail meaning not missing one workout) It has been said that when people try to make changes, the average time they commit to it is 2 weeks ~ I'm saying I'm ready to bring on the next 12!

Day 6 ~ Kick My A** KENPO!

WEEEEEEEEEE WOOOOOOO WEEEEEEEEE
I think I just kicked my own butt! I made it though. Yes, indeed I have made it through the whole Kenpo dvd and it really made my fat cells cry aka I sweated fiercely! Now THAT is what I like in a workout. I do not necessarily like to sweat at all but with a workout it is a whole different story. Its about knowing when I can shred and shed some pounds and I am looking to beat this belly fat.

Tomorrow is either a rest day or do the Stretch X. I might just check out the Stretch X. I just love stretchin' dem mus-kles (nya nya nya nya **my best impression of Popeye though it might be the worst anyone has ever heard)

Day 5 - Legs and Back

oh boy oh boy ! I am going to have to get the Recovery Drink! I am drinking a Soy Protein shake after my workouts but I am still feeling a little weak towards the end. I usually eat something that is easily digestible before all of my workouts but I still get that bottomed-out feeling. Am I supposed to eat the breakfast in the P90X menu prior to every workout? If it says what to do or if it is mentioned in the informational DVD, I missed it. I am definitely going to have to set some goals to-do

GOALS:
  • download/print workout logs
  • order recovery drink
  • order protein bars
  • read/watch instructional material again
  • get to bed at a decent hour!!!!

it is also possible that I did not get enough rest last night. I promised my kiddos I would watch a movie with them but by the time I was finished helping my husband make some minor repairs to the roof on our shop it was already 9pm. Starting a movie at that hour does not make for a good night's sleep especially when we get up at 5am! But a promise is a promise and I try to keep them as best as I can when it comes to time with my kiddos.

NOTE TO SELF: lets get a tighter schedule going

as for the workout today ~ FANTASTIC!!

Day 4 - Yoga-fying

It is the 4th day and even I have impressed myself by getting up and accomplishing my Yoga X Program (I believe this is my fave so far). Well, I cannot say it was totally finished. There was only about 20 minutes left on the video and I just had to stop. The kids were already getting up, the phone was ringing and the hubby needed me to send stuff via email. So, although it was not a COMPLETE complete workout, I am feeling accomplished. The muscles are burning! hoo yeah!

~ I love yoga! ~
